Dinner: Salad Lover Dream Buffet!
You are invited to a sensuous salad bar with an extensive selection of the freshest greens, vegetables, sweet fruit and non-sweet “veggie-fruits”.
Build your unique creation on an abundant foundation of crisp greens selection, which can include tender leaf lettuces, succulent spinach, locally grown spring mixes or whole leaf lettuces.
Choose from a dazzling array of beautifully prepared tomatoes, cucumber, celery, carrots, summer squashes, zoodles… and oh so much more!
A choice of fresh herbs will also be available, to customize your creation, which may include cilantro, Italian parsley, basil, or chives/scallions.
Crown your “signature salad bowl” creation with one of several memorable dressing options available each night: top with a creamy concoction that includes one overtly fatty ingredient (avocado, or coconut), or splash with exquisite, perfectly balanced lighter infusions, or if you dare - our spicy special. All dressings will be prepared by raw vegan chefs Chris Kendall and Ashley Clark.

High Ropes Challenge Course

Camp Walden has its own four sided climbing tower connected to an eleven element continuous belay high ropes challenge course in which a participant can choose to cross at their own speed.

The four sided, 28ft climbing tower has two climbing wall surfaces that incorporate different climbing angles to facilitate easier and harder climbing routes.  The other two sides of the tower include a Vertical Playpen and Giant’s Ladder (Dangling Duo).  The top of the tower has a 12’ x 12’ platform from which participants could transfer to other continuous belay traversing elements.

Camp Walden uses a SmartSnap double locking self belay system designed to make it impossible for a participant to unlock themselves from the course by mistake.

The elements included in the continuous belay challenge/ropes course are known by the following names:

1. Multivine (from climbing tower to tree traversing)

2. Horizontal Bridge (tree to tree traversing)

3. Pirates Crossing (tree to utility pole traversing)

4. Catwalk (utility pole to tree traversing)

5. Swing Chairs (tree to tree traversing)

6. Tension Traverse (tree to tree traversing)

7. Two Line (tree to tree traversing)

8. Giant Swing (course exit off Tower) - be sure to check this one out! :)

Presentation 'Achieving Fitness Success: Is your exercise helping or hurting you?' with Dr SAM
Exercise is an important nutrient for overall health. As such, exercise should nourish your
body by 'adding to' it. Many people end up draining, instead of training their bodies correctly.
In this informative discussion, Dr. SAM will share some easy-to- follow principles, tips, and
strategies that will improve how you look, move, and perform in life. If you want to take your
health and fitness to the next level, then attending this lecture is a MUST! If you've
experienced Dr. SAM's lectures and classes in previous years, then you know they are fun,
educational, and empowering—and will be a great investment of your time and energy again!
You will leave this lecture feeling very empowered as you learn 3 Key Fitness Principles:

Principle 1- Let's face it: Injuries are NOT fun! This principle will address some simple
ways to prevent them so you can enjoy your fitness activities and maintain a higher
quality of life!
Principle 2- This principle is one of the BIGGEST secrets when exercising.
Understanding this secret will not only improve how well you exercise, it will also
improve your overall health!
Principle 3- This principle will help you stay committed to exercise and allow you to
enjoy it as you improve your fitness level!

Fitness Class 'Proper Movement as the key to better fitness!- Part 1' with Dr SAM
Many people spend lots of time exercising, but they often neglect how they're really moving.
Learning to move correctly is paramount for not only feeling well, but in preventing injuries as
well. Your survival may even depend on your ability to 'move well' when needed. In this
exercise class, Dr. SAM is going to address moving mindfully, including correct body
mechanics for specific basic movement patterns that one should learn to master— such as
squatting, bending, lunging, pushing, pulling, reaching, and balancing on one leg.
Unfortunately, many people neglect these essential movements because they cause pain.
Dr. SAM will break down some important functional movement patterns in fun and simple
ways to help you learn how to master these movements so that you can excel in sports; in
leisure time activities; and in life! Dr. SAM's exercise classes were a highly attended event in
years past and will most likely be so again this year. Whether or not you're a seasoned athlete or just slightly fit, this class will have something valuable to offer you. This class is for all
fitness levels, so come join the group!
Expected duration: 60 minutes.

Presentation 'Not Enough Nutrients on a Raw Food Diet – How it's Possible' with Don Bennett - New for 2017!

It's commonly thought that if we eat a healthy plant-based diet where we don't cook what we eat (which damages nutrients), and we eat a variety of foods, we don't have to be concerned about nutrition; we'll get what we need. But is this admittedly lovely notion borne out by reality?
In this new for 2017 talk, researcher and 25 year raw vegan educator Don Bennett will explain how it is indeed possible to not get enough of all the nutrients our body requires for optimal healing and health, and the things you can do to avoid this potentially harmful scenario so that you can have robust "future health" and the best odds of never getting a diagnosis of something serious. And "nutrients" do not just include vitamins and minerals.
And equally important: How is "enough" defined? If you embraced a raw food diet for the health benefits, this is a must-see presentation.

 - Part of our Beginners' Focus.

Kirtan/ Bhakti Yoga with Rudrananda
The simple definition of kirtan is the call and response singing of the many names of the God/Goddess/Guru.
It is a devotional practice, a limb of Yoga, and a mental and spiritual outlook all rolled into one. Kirtan, or Bhakti Yoga, is a spiritual path as true and impactful as any other. We celebrate all the wonderful diversity in this plane, and see all aspects and all beings as divine.
Bhakti Yogis choose to see the Divine form in all beings as opposed to all beings as one Divine form (Jnana). We can in turn worship all the myriad forms of the God/Goddess with ecstatic joy. As Sri Ramakrishna the great Bengali saint said: "I want to enjoy sugar, not become one with it!" This was a simple yet profound example of Bhakti or devotion.

Kirtan allows us to open our heart and surrender to it. We can then tap into the Universal Consciousness, and as countless beings have done since time immemorial, we can cry out with love to be reunited with our beloved...the God/Goddess/Guru within that we are all searching for.

All Levels Acro Class with Brittany & Conor
Join Brittany and Conor for 60 minutes of partner-based acrobatics play that will allow
you to connect with yourself and others, become stronger and more flexible, and do fun
things you never dreamed were within your ability level. The class is open to all skill
levels, and you do not need to bring a partner to attend.
Brittany and Conor teach a synthesis of AcroYoga, circus tricks, and standing acrobatics.
Classes are taught in rotating groups of three, so there's a base, a flyer, and a spotter at
all times, ensuring safety.
Each class is self contained and there's no requirement that you must come to every
class, but Brittany and Conor will progressively build upon what is taught in classes, so
that frequent attenders will find themselves greatly improved in ability level by the end
of the week.

High Ropes Challenge Course

Camp Walden has its own four sided climbing tower connected to an eleven element continuous belay high ropes challenge course in which a participant can choose to cross at their own speed.

The four sided, 28ft climbing tower has two climbing wall surfaces that incorporate different climbing angles to facilitate easier and harder climbing routes.  The other two sides of the tower include a Vertical Playpen and Giant’s Ladder (Dangling Duo).  The top of the tower has a 12’ x 12’ platform from which participants could transfer to other continuous belay traversing elements.

Camp Walden uses a SmartSnap double locking self belay system designed to make it impossible for a participant to unlock themselves from the course by mistake.

The elements included in the continuous belay challenge/ropes course are known by the following names:

1. Multivine (from climbing tower to tree traversing)

2. Horizontal Bridge (tree to tree traversing)

3. Pirates Crossing (tree to utility pole traversing)

4. Catwalk (utility pole to tree traversing)

5. Swing Chairs (tree to tree traversing)

6. Tension Traverse (tree to tree traversing)

7. Two Line (tree to tree traversing)

When we move toward a raw food diet and our body cleanses, we start to realize more what we really want in our life, and at the same time to mobilize the energy to take action.

Movie Night showing 'What the Health' with Don Bennett
Please join us for a screening of 'What the Health' recent enlightening and thought-provoking documentary.

"What The Health" is a surprising, and at times hilarious investigative documentary that will be an eye-opener for everyone concerned about our nation’s health and how big business influences it. This film is from the creators of the award winning documentary "Cowspiracy." The film follows intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the secrets to preventing and even reversing chronic diseases – and investigates why the nation’s leading health organizations don’t want us to know about them. This is a great film to show others why you are vegan. Some free DVDs of the film will be given out.

Presentation 'Some Raw Realities about our Future Environment and the Importance of Electric Vehicles'' with Don Bennett

What good is having robust future health if your future external environment will have a difficult time supporting your body's needs, or if it will be stressful on you emotionally? Global warming is no joke, it’s denied at our own peril, and is something that needs to be addressed “yesterday”. Yes, the best thing you can do to minimize your carbon/methane footprint is to eat a vegan diet, but coming in a close second is driving an electric car instead of one that runs on fossil fuel. So it’s important for all our futures to learn about the advantages of an Electric Vehicle to your planet (and your wallet). Even if you don't own a car or don't intend to have one, you need to know about this issue to be able to share it with those who do drive, because their choice of diet and vehicle can affect their future health as well as yours. So come hear about the kind of vehicle that we must transition to if we want to have a habitable and peaceful planet (lots of wars fought over oil). Learn about the car that actually gets cleaner the longer you own it.
